card by Rachel Ngu: [email protected] And...the results are out! Congratulations to the winners of i&i 2016: 1st place: Tan Shao Qi (16) ' "Bambi, A Life in the Woods” by Felix Salten is a favourite childhood story of mine. When I first read it, I was attracted to Bambi’s inquisitive character. He was one who enjoyed discovering new things in life and it opened my eyes as a child to what I could explore in the future.' 2nd place: Koh Wen Jun Shaun (11) Title: Snow Fairy and the seven trolls written and illustrated by Shaun Koh (This is a modified version of the Snow White and the seven dwarfs.) Snow Fairy and the seven trolls story is about how an evil queen whose heart has wickedness, aims to destroy the Snow Fairy. However, evil will never prevail good and in the end the Queen died while the Snow Fairy is happily married to her hero. Proverbs 10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. This is an illustrated story book project. Shaun wrote the story with modifications of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs fairy tale. He has just completed drawing the pictures of the entire story book and we will be printing and assembling it soon. 3rd place: Jackie Guo Jiaqi (12) 'The character that I chose to depict is Harry Potter, from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling. The book is about how Harry went through his first year at Hogwarts, making friends and defeating enemies. I think this book is interesting as it is packed with action, suspense and humor. I chose Harry Potter, the main character, as I can relate to him the best. The author included some of his background information in the story as well, so it is very easy to understand his thoughts and actions. He also has some very commendable values, and I look up to him very much.' A big thank you to all our participants, once again! We hope to see you at next year's i&i!
