Are you a book lover who loves to draw or paint? Have you ever wondered what your favourite character looks like? This year, think-ink is holding our first ever book-based art competition, imagine&illustrate (i&i.) Bring your favourite book alive through a piece of art, and stand a chance to win Robert Sabuda's fabulous pop-up version of Alice in Wonderland! PROMPT: 1. Design a book cover for your favourite book. Include a short introduction of the book with its title, author name, and why you enjoy it/how it was like reading it for the first time. OR 2. Create a piece of art (drawing, painting, collage, mixed medium etc.) which depicts a scene from, or a character from a book. Include a short introduction of the book with its title, author name, and why you chose to depict that scene/character. SUBMISSIONS: Please submit your artworks as a digital scan, PDF preferably, and email it as an attachment to [email protected]. IMPORTANT: Include your short introduction, your name, your age, and your contact details (mailing address and email address) in the body of your email. DEADLINE: The deadline for submissions is 29th November, 12 midnight. Results will be announced on 6th December on the think-ink website; winner will be notified personally by email, and receive prize through the mail. PRIZE: think-ink will be giving away a copy of acclaimed paper engineer and children's pop-up book artist Robert Sabuda's version of Alice in Wonderland, a pop-up extravaganza which perfectly captures Lewis Carroll's fantastic classic, delighting children and adults alike. Winning artwork and runner-ups will be showcased on the think-ink website. QUALIFICATIONS: There are no age limits! Just send us your best work. Limit of one entry per person. JUDGES: We're thrilled to introduce Ms Tan Sze Fong, our guest judge for this competition! Ms.Tan Sze Fong graduated with B.A. Hons in Printed Textiles from Middlesex University U.K. She lectured at NAFA's School of Fashion Studies from 1993 - 1998. She initiated the Textile Design department there. In 2006, Ms.Tan founded SF Galleries Art Studio (ww.sfgalleries.sg) where she conducts children and adult classes. Ms.Tan has been teaching at CHIJ Katong Primary since 2011. Since 2016, she has been conducting workshops to corporations. We look forward to seeing your imagination come to life!
